SEEKING SUCCESSORS TO THE CORONET

Their Excellencies Baron Duncan Vitrarius and Baroness Moira Ramsay have served this glorious Barony of Stromgard long and well. It is their wish that successors be selected and the Baronial Coronets be passed on.  Per kingdom law, the selection is accomplished via a combination of baronial polling and Royal selection.

Any member of the Barony that has an interest in being considered as candidates, they should familiarize themselves with the Kingdom Polling Process (https:/antir.org/online-baronial-polling)

"Letters of Intent. A time period is established for letters of intent, with a call for such published in The Crier and to the branch email list.
• Any member in good standing with a desire to serve may apply for the position of Baronial Coronet. It is a long standing tradition of the Barony that this role be split jointly between two people to share the burden of the role, but it is not required.
• Members of the populace are encouraged to speak to worthy candidates and encourage them to submit themselves for consideration by The Crown.

• The submission package should include a letter of intent, an SCA resume, and/or a modern resume, and shall be sent to the Baronial Seneschal,  outgoing Baronial Coronets, and the Kingdom Polling Secretary (pollings@antir.org).

Applications for candidates are due July 15th 2022.

After the candidates are approved by Their Majesties and Their Royal Highnesses, there will hosted meet and greet sessions scheduled for August, details to be published. This will be an opportunity for the populace to meet the candidates.

The online polling will take place from Sept 12th-16th. There is only online polling available at this time. You must be an SCA member to participate in polling and reside within the Stromgards Postal codes. (Look up here) If you are not a member, or reside outside of the Baronial zipcodes, the Crown still wants to hear your thoughts! You can do this through the polling form link (to be published) that will re-direct your commentary to them through Email, OR you can email them directly at (Crowns@anti.org AND Heirs@antir.org).

For more information about the online polling process, please visit https:/antir.org/online-baronial-polling.  If you have any questions about the role and responsibilities of the Baronial Coronets, or wish to discuss the selection process, please feel free to contact the polling deputy, their Excellencies Stromgard or the Seneschal of Stromgard.

About Stromgard

Stromgard began as a Shire, founded in 1971  & became a Barony in 2000. As a chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism, our group comprises medieval fighters, archers, ax, knife & spear throwers, blacksmiths, potters, cooks, farmers, cobblers, bards, musicians, costumers, equestrians, makers and doers of every kind. We enjoy "experiential archaeology & anthropology" focusing on cultures before the 1700s, and strive to recreate aspects of the life and times (minus plague, religious constraints, war, or prejudices.)

We encourage the curious & newcomers to join us at events, meetings & gatherings online or in person for games, tournaments, expositions & more. Please contact our Chatelaine (newcomer liason) for more information.
