any retired or injured fighter
who hasn’t fought in a tournament
for at least 2 years.

HOW THE TOURNAMENT WILL WORK:
 

STRATEGY:
Speed Chess.
Timed. 10 points per win. 5 points per draw. Five minute rounds.
Up to 9 games per contestant – time permitting.

KNOWLEDGE:
Trivia.
Cardinal Sin is devising devious questions on Medieval and An Tir fighting, etc.. 30 questions. 3 point per question.

PROWESS:
3 rounds of combat by proxy.
Iron Trident Challengers recruit their own “stable” of proxy fighters as follows: one unbelted, one squired, one knighted. (start building your team today before your favorite fighters get recruited by a competitor).

First round: standard tournament.

Second round: Across a Barrier.

Third round: Holmgang.

Note: Challengers must use each fighter TWICE per round (but no duplicate matchups in the same round). If, due to odd numbers of competitors, one man remains, he MUST start the next round of fighting.

Extra points allotted for fighters who win against a foe of a higher status (Duke, Knight, Squire, Unbelted).

Round starts with an "Offensive" team offering the challenge (I challenge Sir ____ using my fighter ______). The "Defensive" team then chooses a fighter to match, and chooses the weapon type.
